Buses & coaches

Did you know that parking for buses & coaches is absolutely free during the Dickensian Festival. We think this is something rather special because we believe that anyone coming along to our wonderful festival with a coach load of people, is rather special too. We like to look after you all, so please read this page so that we can plan for your arrival.

If you are an organised party planning to attend the Dickensian weekend, you MUST phone ahead and let us know you are coming.

Please phone Mr Peter Winston on 01229 580640.

We need to know your vehicle type, how many people are in your party and what your party or tour bus company is called. That's it, simple as that and then you get to park for free.

SAT NAV Postcode for the arrival point is LA12 7LZ.

The arrival point is County Square, Ulverston, which is the roundabout directly outside the Coronation Hall in Ulverston. Leave the M6 at junction 36, and simply follow the signs to Barrow In Furness. You will eventually (after about 30 minutes from the M6) arrive in Ulverston. The coach arrival point is signposted clearly.

At the arrival point you will be met by our meet & greet team in Dickensian outfits and they will explain everything to you.

Programmes will be available at this point and toilets and refreshments are all nearby.

Once your party have disembarked, buses & coaches will be directed to the parking areas. Drivers will be transported back to County Square where drivers will receive a meal voucher.

The departure & collection point is also at County Square. Please advise passengers to arrive 10 minutes before your departure time to avoid unnecessary queuing.
